We spent a few days in New York City over the kids’ spring break.
Heading into this vacation I kept wondering if we should even try to go on a vacation with a teenager still struggling with some major compulsions and avoidance behaviors due to OCD.
And honestly, it was hard. But there were lots of good moments, too. It could have been better, but it also could have been worse. So I’ll take it!!
I know my blog posts lately have been a bit heavy- so I thought I’d just share some fun thoughts from our time NYC to lighten things up.
Here are my top five things that I may or may not have googled while there:
- Do city-dwellers understand the concept of personal space?
- Why do pigeons live in cities?
- Why don’t people in NYC walk on the right side of the sidewalk?
- How big is Central Park?
- How many steps to the top of the Statue of Liberty?
I enjoyed the city but I’m so glad I live in a small town!! This meme perfectly expresses how I feel about the state of NY versus NYC…
