What’re you thinking about?

This morning during my devotions I came across Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”  It occurred to me for the first time that this should apply to my thoughts regarding my kids.  As moms we try to influence their behavior toward the positive (a.k.a – don’t be so mean to your brother – be nice!)  But then often I get stuck there.  And instead of noticing and paying attention to the good stuff, I find myself only noticing and pointing out the negative. 

 How would my attitude change if I took Paul’s advice regarding what I see in my kids?  How would their attitudes and behavior change?  Anyone have any thoughts on this?
